The American Dream Meadowlands project, formerly known as Xanadu. Photo: LancerE / Flickr Triple 5, the developers of the stalled “American Dream” megamall project at the Meadowlands, are facing backlash. The New York Jets and Giants are suing to block construction, saying it would create transportation issues and discourage football fans from attending games. The mall is poised to be the largest mall in the United States and will include a vast array of retail shops, an indoor snow park, amusement rides, and a water park. Though according the Triple 5’s Web site, the project is nearly 80-percent complete, the developers are seeking to expand the entertainment portion of the complex. The company is in the midst of trying to finalize almost $2 billion in financing to finish the megamall.
