Fox Soccer ChannelLOS ANGELES -- Some of Europe’s elite club teams descend onto American soil this summer as Fox Soccer Channel televises a series of highly-anticipated international showdowns including Football at Fenway, the Barclays New York Challenge, and matches pitting legendary clubs Real Madrid and Manchester United against Major League Soccer opposition.

Soccer returns to Boston’s Fenway Park on Wednesday, July 21 as Scotland’s Celtic FC battles Sporting Lisbon of Portugal, 42 years after Pele first brought the game to this historic stadium. Live coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Soccer Channel.

From July 22-25, the Barclays New York Challenge takes over Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. as the host New York Red Bulls, England’s Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, and Sporting Lisbon battle it out in this inaugural event. The tournament features a unique scoring system in which teams receive additional points for each goal scored. All matches air live on Fox Soccer Channel beginning Thursday, July 22 when French superstar Thierry Henry makes his debut for the Red Bulls vs. Tottenham, and continuing the next day with Manchester City and Sporting Lisbon, both at 8:30 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, July 25, Fox Soccer Channel features an enticing quadruple-header spanning 10 hours of live coverage, starting at 1 p.m. ET with the final two matches of the Barclays New York Challenge. That leads into FSC’s exclusive English-language telecast of English heavyweight Manchester United visiting MLS’s Kansas City Wizards for the first sporting event at newly-remodeled Arrowhead Stadium. Coverage begins with a live pregame show at 5:30 p.m. ET. The fourth match of the day finds MLS taking center stage as the Seattle Sounders host the Colorado Rapids in a special Sunday night telecast beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

The stars are set to align Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., when Landon Donovan and the Los Angeles Galaxy host Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká and Spanish giant Real Madrid. Pregame coverage on Fox Soccer Channel begins at 8:30 p.m. ET, leading into kickoff at 9 p.m. of a match that could feature as many as 13 players who participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonzo of newly-crowned World Champion Spain all suit up for Real Madrid, as do Holland’s Rafael van der Vaart and Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuain.
