Estonian international joins New York from Norway's Tromso IL
SECAUCUS, NJ-- Red Bull New York announced today that it has signed Estonian midfielder Joel Lindpere. Per club and League policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. He will be added to the roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
"Joel is an experienced midfielder who can play in many different positions," said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "We have watched him play for a long period of time and we are confident that he will be able to adjust to the MLS game."
Lindpere most recently played for Norwegian Tippeligaen side, Tromso IL, where he made 75 appearances from 2007-09 and scored five goals. The 28-year-old joined Tromoso from Estonian club, FC Flora Tallinn. Lindpere had three different stints with FC Flora, from 2000-01, 2002-04 and 2005-06. In between, Lindpere also featured for Estonia's FC Valga from 2001-02 and Bulgaria's CSKA Sofia from 2004-05. He started his career in Estonia as a 15-year-old at JK Nomme Kalju in 1997 before moving onto Lelle SK for two years.

New York continues its strong preseason with Disney Pro Soccer Classic title
The New York Red Bulls rode a three-goal performance by forward Juan Pablo Angel to defeat Toronto FC 4-0 Saturday, Feb. 27 and win the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, FL. Forward Conor Chinn also scored for New York, which has gone unbeaten in the 2010 preseason, as it improved to 4-0-3 with Saturday's win. The Red Bulls, who did not concede a goal during the tournament, advanced to the Championship Game after they defeated the Houston Dynamo in a penalty kick shootout, 6-5, on Thursday following a 0-0 tie.

SECAUCUS, NJ-- The New York Red Bulls and Santos F.C. confirmed that Santos forward Robinho will travel with the club to participate in the March 20th Red Bull Arena Grand Opening match between the two clubs. Also confirmed to travel with the team are Neymar, Giovani and Fabio Costa and 14 other senior roster players.
"We are excited that Robinho, one of the world's top players, will travel to New York to face the Red Bulls for our Grand Opening match," said Red Bull New York Sporting Director and General Manager Erik Soler. "Santos is an outstanding club and we look forward to great competition as we open our new stadium."

Goran Aral joins the Red Bulls from Swedish Allsvenskan side, Djurgardens
SECAUCUS, NJ-- Red Bull New York announced today that it has signed Goran Aral to be an assistant coach, joining current assistants Richie Williams and Des McAleenan.
"We're excited to bring Goran to our coaching staff," said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "He brings experience and will be useful in helping develop our younger players, working with the First Team and our academy."
Aral was most recently with Swedish Allsvenskan side, Djurgardens, serving as their Sport Director, overseeing the club's youth initiatives and technical system. He served at Djurgadens in a number of capacities and was on the management team since the late 1990s. During this time, Aral was part of three Allsvenskan-winning teams in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Aral was a former Djurgardens player during the 1970s.

New Yorks posts two more positive results in La Manga, Spain
The Red Bulls are wrapping up their two-week preseason trip in La Manga, Spain. Under new head coach Hans Backe, the Red Bulls tied Russia's CSKA Moscow, 1-1, on Jan. 25 and defeated Poland's Lech Poznan, 1-0, and Norway's Stromsgodset, 2-1, on Jan. 27 and Feb. 1, respectively. The team, which now has a 2-0-1 record in preseason this year, returns to the United States on Feb. 4.
In the match against CSKA, the Red Bulls took the lead when forward Juan Pablo Angel found midfielder Dane Richards, who put in the team's first preseason goal of 2010 in the sixth minute. CSKA qualified for the first knockout round of the UEFA Champions League, where they will face Spain's Sevilla in a two-leg, home-and-home series starting on Feb. 24.

SECAUCUS, NJ-- Red Bull New York announced today that it will face Brazilian club, Santos, on March 20, 2010 in the official Grand Opening of Red Bull Arena, located in Harrison, NJ. Kickoff time will be announced at a future date.
The exhibition match is included in the 2010 Red Bulls Full Season Ticket packages at no additional cost.
Beginning this Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 10:00 AM, Season Ticket Holders will also receive an exclusive three-day pre-sale window to purchase additional discounted seats to this match and the Red Bulls MLS Home Opener against the Chicago Fire on March 27.

Red Bulls trade for second round pick
SECAUCUS, NJ-- Red Bull New York announced today that it has acquired defender and U.S. Men's National Team veteran Chris Albright from the New England Revolution in exchange for a 2010 MLS SuperDraft second round pick (31st overall) and third round pick 48th overall). The Red Bulls still hold five picks in today's SuperDraft; two in the first round (2nd, 14th), one in the second (18th), one in the third (34th) and one in the fourth (50th).
"We consider that Chris has the potential to again be one of the top right backs in MLS. His resume of winning three MLS Cups and playing for the U.S. Men's National Team speaks for itself and we are confident that he can provide leadership and ability to our back line," said Red Bull New York Sporting Director and General Manager Erik Soler.
Albright, who was acquired by the Revolution on Jan. 18, 2008 from the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for allocation money, is an experienced veteran in Major League Soccer, winning three MLS Cup titles with D.C. United in 1999 and the Galaxy in 2002 and 2005. In 2009, the three-time MLS All-Star started in one game in April before missing the rest of the season due to left knee injuries. Albright underwent meniscus surgery on April 22.

Red Bull New York will introduce head coach Hans Backe (pronounced BAH-kuh) to the local media on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 12:30 PM ET at Red Bull Arena's Bulls Corner, located on the stadium's third level. Backe was named the team's new head coach on Jan. 7. He will retain assistant coach Richie Williams and goalkeeper coach Des McAleenan for his staff. Jeremy Holsopple will also join the staff as the team's Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Costa Rican international joins New York from Norway's Rosenborg
SECAUCUS, NJ-- Red Bull New York announced today that it has signed Costa Rican defender Roy Miller. Miller will be added to the team's Senior Roster after he gets P-1 visa approval, passes a physical and the club receives receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
"I have followed Roy for a few years and I am confident that he will be able to adjust well to Major League Soccer," said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler.
Miller, 25, who was acquired from Norwegian Premier League club, Rosenborg, was most recently on loan with Swedish Allsvenskan (First Division) club, Orgryte, since July 28, 2009. With Orgryte, Miller played 11 games. In one season with Rosenborg, Miller featured in 14 matches.
