Red Bulls tie with Crew for Eastern Conference lead

Seth Stammler 30-yard rocket gave New York a 1-0 win over ChivasHARRISON, N.J.- A well placed low shot from about 30 yards by New York's midfielder Seth Stammler awarded a second consecutive win to the New York Red Bulls 1-0 over Chivas USA in front of 18,815 fans Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.

The win, puts the Red Bulls (7-5-0) at tie for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Columbus Crew.

New York now goes on a much needed three week World Cup break with great momentum and a positive attitude after snapping a four-game losing streak.

Chivas USA (3-8-1) remains in last place of the Western Conference.

Both teams are now off until June 26, when New York travels to Kansas City, and Chivas USA hosts FC Dallas.
